Thirty six healthy Korean men with male pattern alopecia were subjected to a fc ur month double-blind, controlled trial of topical 2%-minoxidil. Both objective and subjective assessment of hair growth by the subjects and investigators were made.
The results were as follows:
1. After 4 months of treatment, 18(60%) of 30 men, who were treated with topi-¢¥al 2%-minoxidil, showed good effect on hair regrowth.
2. During the treatment, none of the subjects showed the systemic or local side effect. These results suggest that topical minoxidil might be a new therapeutic agent of hope -for male pattern alopecia.
